What is a mutual transfer in Indian Railways?

A mutual transfer is when two railway employees in the same post agree to swap places with each other. It is applied for and approved through the employees' own railway administration, under the rules in force at the time.

Who is a mutual match on myCBT?

A mutual match on myCBT is an employee with the same department, designation, pay level and category as you, who works where you want to go and wants to come where you are. Matches across zones and between divisions of one zone are both shown.

Is the Mutual Transfer Finder free?

Yes. Adding your request, seeing your matches and searching are free. Seeing a match's mobile number, station and note is a myCBT PRO benefit.

Is my personal information safe?

Your name is always shown partly hidden, and your mobile number is shown only to PRO members who press "I'm interested" — and only if you allow it. You can pause your request at any time, and it stops showing after 90 days unless you confirm you are still looking.

Does myCBT arrange or approve the transfer?

No. myCBT only helps railway employees find each other. It is not part of Indian Railways, does not verify the details people enter, and does not arrange, recommend or approve any transfer.
