In signaling and interlocking (Panel Interlocking/RRI), the EURRB button is used for Emergency Route Release.

When a route is locked (due to a track circuit failure or a cancelled signal) and the "Route" indicator does not go off, this button is used to release the route manually.

⚠️ Critical Safety Rules for EURRB

  • Counter Increment: Every press of the EURRB (and other emergency buttons) is recorded in a non-resettable counter.

  • Documentation: The SM must record the counter number and the reason for use in the Train Signal Register (TSR) and the Emergency Button Register.

Time Delay: Emergency route release usually has a 120-second (2-minute) time lag to ensure any approaching train has come to a stop.
