Navigating HR policies can feel like a maze. To help you plan your vacations, family time, and recovery periods, we’ve broken down the essential leave categories available to you.
📅 Regular Leave Categories
1. Leave on Average Pay (LAP)
Commonly known as "Earned Leave," this is your primary vacation bank.
Accrual: 30 days per year, credited in two instalments (15 days each on January 1st and July 1st).
Accumulation: You can stack up to a maximum of 300 days.
Encashment: You can encash 10 days every alternate year (up to 6 times in your career), provided you maintain at least a 10-day balance afterward.
2. Leave on Half Average Pay (LHAP)
Accrual: 20 days per year, credited in advance on January 1st.
Flexibility: There is no maximum limit for accumulation.
Conversion: This can be "commuted" to LAP (Medical Leave) by surrendering 2 days of LHAP for every 1 day of full-pay leave.
3. Leave Not Due (LND)
An advance of leave granted to permanent employees when no other leave is available.
Limit: Maximum 360 days during your entire career.
👟 Casual & Short-Term Leave
Casual Leave (CL)
Standard: 8 days per year (for those enjoying Gazetted Holidays). +2 RH
Non-Gazetted Staff: 10 days per year.
Inclusion: Persons with disabilities receive an additional 4 days of CL annually.
Compensatory Casual Leave (CCL/Rest)
For Group C & D staff (excluding supervisors) who work on Sundays or Holidays.
Rule: Must be used within 30 days of the day worked.
Note: If you aren't entitled to the rest day, you may be eligible for conveyance charges.
